How to make Orange Sorbet (without an ice cream maker)

As it was over 34 degrees, I decided to make last week's bake a non-bake. Here is my first attempt at an orange sorbet! This is one of my fiancé's favourite desserts (which is impossible to find in any local restaurant) so I decided to give it a go! A bit more like an orange slushy but still very yummy and refreshing, especially during this heatwave!

Ingredients:

3 cups freshly squeezed oranges OR 3 cups smooth orange juice

1 tbsp of caster sugar

1 Large orange

Method:

  1. If using fresh oranges, squeeze oranges and strain out any seeds and pulp from the juice

  2. Add caster sugar

  3. Pour the juice into a zip lock bag, seal it securely and lay it flat in the freezer. Freeze until solid

  4. Break up the frozen juice then put it in a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth

  5. Put in a container and leave in the freezer for a few hours

  6. Use the outside of a large orange to create a small bowl for your sorbet

  7. Scoop and enjoy!
